Job Description: Finance Intern, Summer 2025 – Atlanta, GA

Smurfit Westrock offers a 10-12 week summer internship program for Finance Interns at their headquarters in Sandy Springs, GA. Interns will be placed within Corporate Finance, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The internship involves various responsibilities across several finance areas:

Financial Statement Analysis & Reporting: This includes tasks related to financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting, likely encompassing quarterly and monthly processes.

Data Analysis & Forecasting: Interns will be involved in data analysis, supporting the annual budgeting process, tracking projects, and creating forecasts. This includes analyzing financial information to aid decisions in operations, maintenance, and future spending.

Customer Profitability & Supply Chain Analysis: Analyzing profitability by customer and assessing the financial aspects of the supply chain.

Strategic Modeling & Return Analysis: Creating financial models, discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses, and return analyses for strategic projects and capital expenditure investments. This will involve evaluating the financial viability of various projects and investments at both the business segment and corporate levels.

Pricing & Commercial Finance Support: Quantifying and analyzing the impact of pricing changes and price realization assumptions.

Reporting & Database Optimization: Enhancing existing reporting databases and creating new reports for improved consistency in financial practices.

Ad-hoc Analyses & Special Projects: The role includes conducting ad-hoc analyses and supporting key initiatives as assigned.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with various teams (pricing, commercial finance, division/segment finance) to improve analysis and reporting for senior management.

Presentation Skills: Presenting materials to leadership, specifically mentioned is preparing quarterly Board slides and memos.

Travel: The internship includes potential travel to field sites.
