Job Description

This internship at the FIT office in Los Angeles offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in international trade and economic diplomacy. Interns will work closely with the team to support Flemish companies expanding into the U.S. market and U.S. companies expanding into Europe.

Responsibilities include:

CRM Management & Administration: Updating the CRM system and assisting with general office management tasks.
Trade Assistance: Supporting Flemish companies with export inquiries related to the West Coast market.
Economic Research: Researching topics such as the LA 2028 Olympics, Aerospace, and Architecture & Design.
Content Creation: Preparing economic newsletters, social media posts, and market updates.
Knowledge Building & Sharing: Assisting with internal knowledge-sharing efforts.
Meeting Support: Providing assistance for trade meetings and business interactions.

Duration & Requirements:

Availability: Internships are available between May 26th, 2025, and December 31st, 2025, with a minimum commitment of 12 weeks.
Agreement: An internship agreement supported by an educational institution is required.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. FIT may assist with visa support and will reimburse local commuting costs. Scholarship eligibility is possible.
Language: Proficiency in English is required. Familiarity with Flanders and Belgium is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of the U.S. market and business environment is highly desirable.
Technology: Interns must use their own laptops.
