Job Description: Public Policy Internship (Summer 2025)
This internship offers students hands-on experience within TikTok’s Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team. The team focuses on preventing, managing, and mitigating political, legislative, and regulatory threats to the company, while also advocating for a supportive regulatory environment that fosters growth and innovation.
Responsibilities: Interns will contribute to various aspects of public policy work, including:
• Tracking relevant legislation at the Federal and State levels.
• Monitoring legislative hearings related to tech policy.
• Drafting memorandums and documents on Federal and State legislation and tech-related updates.
• Attending tech-related events.
• Assisting the Public Policy team in engaging with policymakers.
• Contributing to broader company goals within the Public Policy team.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in public policy, political science, or a related tech-policy discipline. A 12-week commitment during Summer 2025 is required. Candidates must have, and maintain throughout employment, work authorization in their country of employment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Graduation date of December 2025 or later, with the intention to return to their degree program after the internship. Strong responsibility, interpersonal skills, and teamwork abilities are preferred. A collaborative work style is essential.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this internship position in Washington, D.C. is $36. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays per year, and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 hours if hired in the second half). The company reserves the right to modify benefits.
