Job Description: Digital CRM Email Marketing Intern

The Digital CRM (Customer Relationship Management) team at AARP is seeking a marketing/marketing communications student intern to contribute to their email newsletter program. This paid internship ($18/hour for undergraduates, $21/hour for graduate students, $28/hour for Ph.D. candidates) runs from Summer 2025 to December 2025, with a possible extension. The internship is a hybrid model with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays (within the US).

Responsibilities: This role offers hands-on experience in email marketing, including:

Newsletter Production: Assisting with all aspects of newsletter creation, utilizing a content management system (CMS), artificial intelligence (AI) tools, selecting articles and images, writing copy, and performing data analysis.
Email Campaign Support: Contributing to ad-hoc email campaigns, attending planning meetings, reviewing creative assets, and more.
Reporting and Analysis: Maintaining internal reports, providing insights, and offering recommendations to the team.
List Growth: Supporting on-site, non-paid strategies to increase newsletter subscriber numbers.
Additional Projects: Contributing to other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in marketing or a related field (digital marketing preferred).
• Rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, postdoctoral student, or recent graduate enrolled in continuing education.
• Prior experience managing projects (work or academic).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various internal stakeholders (business unit leads, digital channel leads, Product, Development, Membership, and Analytics teams).
• Experience with or coursework in marketing plan creation.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
• No coding skills are required.
