Job Description: Digital CRM Intern

AARP’s Digital CRM team is seeking a tech-savvy and marketing-minded intern to join their team. This paid internship, starting Spring 2025, offers the opportunity to contribute to the deployment of over 5 billion emails and 50 million SMS messages annually. The role focuses on ensuring AARP’s business partners deliver effective messaging to the right audiences using cutting-edge marketing technology.

Responsibilities: The internship involves a diverse range of tasks, including:

Agile Practices: Using agile methodologies to improve back-office processes for technology solutions.
Data Analysis: Analyzing data to create executive-level quarterly dashboards on marketing agency performance.
Issue Management: Handling and prioritizing consumer-reported issues, ensuring timely communication.
Market Technology Research: Interviewing stakeholders and researching marketing technology platforms.
Guide Development: Creating “how-to guides” to document process improvements.
Digital Library Management: Acting as the team’s “Librarian,” ensuring proper tagging and storage of digital documents.
Artifact Auditing: Reviewing project artifacts to ensure completion criteria are met.
AI Exploration: Investigating AI applications to accelerate processes and solve complex problems.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a Business Technology or Digital Marketing Strategy program at an accredited college or university (rising junior, senior, or graduate student).
• Self-starter, adaptable, and capable of self-management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
• Comfortable working with virtual, multi-time zone teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Willingness to use technology and participate in virtual meetings with cameras on.
• Familiarity with IT project management methodologies or AI use cases is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rates range from $18 (undergraduates) to $21 (graduate students) to $28 (Ph.D. candidates). The internship is a non-exempt position and does not include employee benefits. A hybrid work environment is offered, with Mondays and Fridays typically remote (within the US).
