Job Description: Event Management Intern

This is a full-time, temporary, non-exempt internship running from April 7th to June 27th, and is a remote position.

Goals & Summary:

The internship aims to introduce the intern to the event industry, allowing them to develop analytical and creative skills while understanding event management and industry trends. Interns will work on multiple events throughout the program, experiencing different aspects of the planning cycle and team environments, potentially including onsite opportunities. Overtime pay is available for hours exceeding 40 per week. While permanent employment isn’t guaranteed, exceptional performance may lead to a full-time offer.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Event Management Team in executing corporate events, supporting various roles and workstreams (transportation, staffing, signage, menu planning, shipping, note-taking, etc.).
• Communicating with vendors for sourcing, scheduling, and updates.
• Editing planning documents (schedules, timelines, project plans, contact sheets).
• Attending internal and external meetings for note-taking and status updates.
• Learning office software (Outlook, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack, Box, and internal Opus processes).
• Potential onsite event support, which may involve travel.

Additional Information:

• Interns report directly to an appointed Intern Manager.
• No college credit hours are attached to the position; students should consult their advisor for credit determination.
• The starting hourly wage is $21.00/hr. The actual wage may vary based on several factors.
