Job Description: CNN Sports Intern (ATL – Summer 2025)
This paid internship, located in the Atlanta area, requires a regular in-office presence based on the intern manager’s schedule. The intern will support CNN Sports’ newsgathering and production across TV and digital platforms, working alongside enthusiastic journalists. Responsibilities include:
• News Gathering and Production Support: Monitoring events and press conferences to identify key moments and soundbites for use on linear and digital platforms. Monitoring social media for news reactions, statements, and video elements. Creating graphic elements, transcribing interviews, researching stories, and gathering video elements for the *CNN World Sport• show. Coordinating daily game recordings, monitoring video quality and router sources. Copyediting anchor scripts and network banners. Assisting with basic administrative and production tasks.
Qualifications:
• Passion for sports and storytelling.
• Knowledge of and active participation in social media as a news tool.
• Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program (proof of enrollment required).
• Rising graduate student (18 years or older).
• Academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA).
• Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship. (Candidates on student or exchange visas are ineligible).
Nice-to-Haves:
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere (or similar) video editing software.
Program Details:
• Duration: 11 weeks (two options for start/end dates: June 2nd – August 15th or June 9th – August 22nd)
• Hours: 35-40 hours per week, hybrid capacity.
• Compensation: Paid, competitive hourly wage.
• Credit: Not required, but documentation for school credit is available.
• Relocation: Not provided.
• Interviewing: February through mid-April.
