Detailed Job Description:

This internship focuses on talent acquisition and involves a variety of responsibilities across process improvement, data analysis, and learning & development.

Essential Duties:

Process Improvement and Project Management: The intern will document talent processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. This includes assisting in the rollout of new talent acquisition initiatives and systems, preparing project documentation (timelines, status reports, post-project evaluations), gathering employee/manager feedback to identify areas for improvement, and identifying departmental process improvements to share with leaders in different functional areas.

Data Auditing and Visualization: Using tools like Excel and Power BI, the intern will create visual representations of talent data, analyze data to identify patterns and trends, generate reports highlighting key findings and recommendations, and collaborate with hiring teams to implement data-driven improvements.

Learning and Development: The intern will complete 10 hours of Workday and other system-related training, 10 hours of job shadowing with internal and cross-departmental associates, and act as a Tier 1 support analyst for internal requests and troubleshooting. Additional miscellaneous duties, analyses, reports, and presentations will be assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Management Information Systems, Data Science, Human Resources, Aviation Management, or a related field. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. Advanced Microsoft Office skills are essential. The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong analytical skills are necessary.

Other Qualifications: Ability to work onsite at the Indianapolis headquarters (unless otherwise directed), ability to work up to 40 hours per week (minimum 20 hours for spring and fall interns), and eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship are required.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific/technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints. Ability to present information effectively to various audiences (management, public groups, boards).

Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, read and interpret technical/regulatory/contractual documentation, and maintain confidentiality.

Decision Making: Makes day-to-day decisions supporting strategic direction; decisions often require independent thought; decisions are short-term and of moderate cost; ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Demands: Ability to move about the work environment; frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.

Work Environment: Typically not exposed to extreme environmental conditions.
