Job Description: 2025 Summer Internship – Procurement

PulteGroup offers various operational internships, including a Procurement internship, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the homebuilding industry. Internships are designed to give a holistic understanding of the industry through rotational shadowing across different departments and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Focus: The internship will involve working closely with various roles and departments within PulteGroup, fostering collaboration and breaking down silos. Interns will collaborate with vendors, learning about their crucial role in operations. A key aspect includes shadowing and learning about bid submittals, negotiation, and cost-saving strategies.

General Internship Details:

Program Structure: The internship is a 12-week program (May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025), with a 40-hour work week. The schedule may be adjusted based on individual student needs. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, mirroring their team’s schedule and flexibility. The program may include a capstone presentation or final project.
Location: The internship is primarily in-person at one of PulteGroup’s 29 Division Offices or in up-and-coming development communities across various states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas).
Training and Development: PulteGroup invests in its interns’ development through centralized training and development opportunities throughout the summer.
Compensation and Benefits: The internship offers a compensation of $20/hour (pay may vary based on position and location). Temporary employees are eligible for the company’s 401(k) plan.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. Ideal candidates are undergraduate or graduate students (minimum sophomore status preferred) pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, Communication, Architecture, or similar fields. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and learning agility are crucial. Interns should be curious, coachable, personable, patient, action-oriented, and accountable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong tech-savvy competency (especially with Excel and Microsoft Teams). A bias for action and a desire to make a meaningful contribution are highly valued. A strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry is preferred. Extracurricular activities and leadership roles are considered a plus.
