Job Description: Engineering Internship/Co-op (July – December)
Pensa is seeking mechanical engineering students or recent graduates for a full-time, in-person internship running from July to December. The internship is designed to be a learning experience, focusing on delivering high-quality work in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities:
• Learn and apply real-world engineering practices and concepts through hands-on participation in both internal and client-based projects, mentored by senior staff.
• Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions.
• Create 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies using Fusion 360 and Solidworks.
• Build prototypes and mockups using rapid prototyping and/or traditional fabrication methods.
• Plan, execute, and report on engineering tests.
• Collaborate on design reviews and decision-making, engaging in highly technical engineering discussions.
• Take ownership of assigned projects.
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing an engineering degree or recent graduate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Hands-on approach and comfort with prototyping and workshop environments.
• Basic understanding of materials, mechanisms, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solidworks & Fusion 360 preferred).
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Adaptability and responsiveness to changing project directions.
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to clearly articulate thought processes and rationales behind decisions.
• Excitement to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the creation of exceptional product experiences.
