About the Company:
Lucasfilm’s Publicity team is responsible for promoting upcoming franchise projects and company news internally and externally. The team consists of experienced publicists, communications professionals, and writers who develop news from Lucasfilm and its franchises, while cultivating relationships with filmmakers, talent, press, influencers, and key partners.
About the Job:
This is a summer internship for an undergraduate student or recent graduate within the Lucasfilm Publicity department in San Francisco, CA. The internship runs approximately from April 2025 to August 2025. The intern will gain firsthand experience in promoting projects and understanding public relations strategy.
Job Responsibilities: Daily tasks may include:
• Organizing PR files (physical and digital) for past and present productions.
• Daily press tracking and reporting.
• Coordinating toolkits and talent handling for projects and press events (junkets, May the 4th events, D23).
• Learning about Lucasfilm’s location and history to assist with tours.
• Preparing presentations using PowerPoint, Keynote, Slides, or other formats.
• Responding to fan mail and assisting with fan packages; organizing and maintaining storage/swag rooms.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Comfortable and confident communicating professionally via phone and email.
• Proficiency in Google G Suite, Mac Keynote, and database management.
• Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in team settings with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Open to domestic travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong interest in the film/entertainment industry.
• Focus in public relations or communications.
• Interest and awareness of current entertainment news.
• Passion for the Star Wars franchise and Lucasfilm legacy.
• Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media, or a related field.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university (taking at least one class at the time of application) OR participation in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• For current Disney program participants: Only one consecutive year (12 months) of internship/program work is allowed.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information:
• Consistent, reliable work schedule is required throughout the internship.
• Availability during standard business hours, with flexibility for some evening/weekend events.
• Intern must provide their own housing and transportation in San Francisco, CA.
• Pay rate: $22.00 per hour. Select benefits may be provided.
