Job Description: Summer 2025 Intern (Owego Maintenance Team) – Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems

This is a summer internship opportunity within Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems division, specifically supporting the Owego Maintenance Team. The intern will work alongside a skilled maintenance team to contribute to facility upkeep and operational continuity.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will collaborate with site Facilities Maintenance, Facilities Engineering, and Space Planning Teams to perform tasks such as:

• Assisting in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Performing routine tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work (under supervision).
• Ensuring facility cleanliness and safety.
• Learning and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Assisting with event setup and breakdown of equipment.
• Collaborating with maintenance staff on tasks and projects.
• Maintaining records of work orders and maintenance activities.
• Contributing to the overall smooth operation and upkeep of the facility.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in a high school or vocational program.
• Demonstrated interest in facilities maintenance and repair.
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn and accept direction from maintenance staff.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods).
• Reliability and punctuality.
Must be a US Citizen.

Desired Skills:
• Completion of coursework in facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field.
• Prior experience in maintenance, repair, or related work.
• Ability to work independently and show initiative.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Clearance Level: None
Ability to Work Remotely: No (Onsite full-time)
Work Schedule: 4×10 hour days, 3 days off per week.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range varies depending on location (see job posting for details). Lockheed Martin considers various factors when making salary offers.
