Job Description: Embark Scholar Intern
KPMG is seeking an Embark Scholar Intern for its Embark Scholars program. This internship offers a rotational experience across the firm’s audit, tax, and advisory service lines. The program aims to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of professional services and KPMG’s client service approach.
Responsibilities:
• Rotate through audit, tax, and advisory departments to gain practical experience.
• Participate in diverse assignments across practices, contributing to engagement teams.
• Support the use of audit methodology, Data & Analytics (D&A), and tax and advisory tasks, including data extraction and analysis.
• Assist in creating work papers, preparing client reports and deliverables, and organizing business development activities.
• Help define engagement scope, review client materials, provide insights, and suggest analytical approaches.
• Utilize various technologies and analytics tools.
• Contribute to the accuracy and transparency of financial information.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Taxation, or a related field.
• Intention to pursue a CPA license (preferred for accounting majors).
• Completion of at least one semester of coursework at the time of application.
• At least three additional semesters remaining upon internship completion before graduation and/or CPA eligibility.
• Minimum GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion. Experience in diversity-related activities (high school, university, community involvement) is valued.
• Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs (Rise, Talent+, etc.) or similar programs (preferred).
• Excellent communication, time management, task management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member, adapt to changing situations, and find creative solutions.
• Must reside within commuting distance of the office and have reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to client sites, potentially requiring overnight stays (varies by office).
• Must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2025.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
