About the Safety Co-op/Intern Position:
This co-op/internship focuses on Occupational Health and Safety, offering opportunities in various areas, including manufacturing plant safety. Projects may involve:
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI regulations.
• Confined Space Evaluations: Assessing and managing risks in confined spaces.
• Safety Auditing: Conducting regular safety inspections and audits.
• Data Tracking: Monitoring and analyzing safety data.
• Safety Compliance Implementation: Putting safety procedures into practice.
• Arc Flash Analysis: Evaluating electrical hazards.
• Fall Hazard Analysis: Identifying and mitigating fall risks.
• Hazard Mitigation: Developing and implementing strategies to reduce workplace hazards.
Detailed Job Description:
This is a paid co-op/internship role available for the Summer 2025 session (May-August), potentially across multiple departments and locations. Honda offers single and multi-semester options. Students must apply to the requisition matching their major and desired semester. Regular in-person attendance is required.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher (transcript required).
• Sophomore status (by credit hours) or above in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
• Major in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis).
• Ability to secure personal transportation to and from work daily (public transportation and ride-sharing services are limited in some locations).
• Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week.
Desired Qualifications:
• Safety compliance experience or coursework.
• Safety-related coursework.
• Manufacturing-related coursework.
Location:
Positions are available in Anna, Ohio; Marysville, Ohio; Raymond, Ohio; East Liberty, Ohio; Russells Point, Ohio; Greensburg, Indiana; Lincoln, Alabama; and Tallapoosa, Georgia. Location preferences will be considered during the selection process.
