Job Description: Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory (FSQR) Associate Program

This is an associate program designed to train recent college graduates for roles within Cargill’s FSQR job family at various locations. The program provides extensive on-the-job training to familiarize participants with business operations and develop their knowledge of processing production, including:

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Food safety
Quality control
Process control
Regulatory compliance

Responsibilities:

Associates will be assigned key projects and manage several food safety and quality programs. Daily tasks include:

• Daily assessment of process quality parameters and food safety and quality systems (raw materials, calibration, maintenance, procedures, food safety, training, auditing, and analytical testing oversight).
• Data analysis, trend identification, troubleshooting, corrective action, and communication regarding processing data, final product, and wastewater.
• Identifying and resolving product quality problems, collaborating with various departments to meet quality, food safety, and microbiological requirements.
• Completing FSQR projects as designated by leadership.
• Writing FSQR/Micro procedures.
• Completing facility and processing area FSQR assessments and sanitation assessments.
• Supporting and coordinating corrective action teams.
• Participating in committees and engagement activities.
• Providing backup assistance for FSQR professionals and supervisors.
• Completing pre-shipment reviews and product clearances.
• Effectively communicating FSQR and Micro results, including timely reporting of all quality assurance activities.
• Maintaining manufacturing, safety, FSQR, Prerequisite Programs (PRPs), and HACCP policies in product production.
• Organizing and maintaining accurate information to ensure food safety.
• Coordinating and monitoring FSQR audits/reviews of operational systems.
• Performing FSQR/Microbiology Technician duties (equipment operation/calibration, aseptic sampling techniques, microbiological testing, data management). Cross-training in both FSQR and Micro functions is required.
• Assisting in training new FSQR/Micro employees.
• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties (process improvement projects, QA procedure development, recruiting, assisting other locations).

Work Environment:

The role is in an industrial/processing plant environment, team-based, fast-paced, and hands-on. It requires moderate physical exertion and may involve exposure to heat, cold, or wet environments. Shift work (including nights and weekends) may be required depending on location.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Expected salary: $65,000 (not adjusted for geographic differential).

Job Locations:

Various plant locations across the U.S. (Beef Processing, Further Processed Meat, Ground Beef, Eggs). Examples include Schuyler, NE, and Fort Morgan, CO (specific req ID 298722 for Fort Morgan). Locations are subject to change.
