About Caprae Capital Partners:

Caprae Capital Partners is a private equity fund founded by Kevin Hong, a serial tech entrepreneur with experience growing two startups to significant revenue levels. The fund’s origins include two additional tech entrepreneur partners with substantial exits to major companies like Twitter and Square. The firm is currently seeking new investment opportunities and is expanding. The fund is also mission-driven and incorporates ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors into its investment strategy. They are backed by a family office managing close to $100M AUM, which provides access to in-house due diligence and accounting support.

Job Description: Undergraduate Private Equity Internship

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of private equity. The program is led by a former Chapman University professor with expertise in entrepreneurial finance. Interns will work remotely, with a flexible schedule of 10 hours per week during the academic year and potentially 20 hours per week during the summer. The ideal start date is immediately, with flexible hours available for those beginning during the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute ideas for target companies based on the fund’s investment criteria.
• Conduct industry research to assess market attractiveness, considering growth, profitability, trends, fragmentation, and investment thesis.
• Directly contact companies to schedule meetings.
• Collaborate with the executive and product/project management teams to onboard vendor partners and integrate their services.
• Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities in specified markets (healthcare, financial services, ITAD, and MSPs).
• Assist in developing 100-day post-acquisition implementation plans.
• Contribute to lead generation efforts in target industries.
• There is the potential to take on a leadership role for the internship program, leading to a paid position.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Undergraduate student with career interest in finance, private equity, banking, corporate strategy, or market research.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated intellectual maturity, including the ability to apply screening criteria, make subjective judgments, and deliver accurate work on time to senior executives.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to confidently interact with company owners.
• Strong social skills and willingness to travel (if needed and qualifications met).
• Additional language skills are a plus.
