Job Description: Tax Intern – International Tax Practice

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its International Tax practice. The intern will be involved in a range of responsibilities, including:

Advising clients: Providing guidance on import and export matters across various industries.
Trade matters expertise: Examining U.S. and international import and export trade regulations.
Research and writing: Conducting research and drafting international trade advice documents.
Identifying cost savings: Formulating ideas and presenting potential trade cost reduction strategies.
Client engagement: Assisting in the timely and budget-conscious delivery of multiple client engagements, maintaining open communication to manage expectations and enhance client satisfaction.
Solution implementation: Supporting clients in implementing global trade automation solutions.
Technology proficiency: Developing skills in key technologies utilized for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Professionalism: Maintaining integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility within KPMG’s work environment.

Qualifications:

Education: Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business (Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Tax, or related field), International Affairs (International Studies, Political Science, Sociology), Data Science or a related field. Upon internship completion, additional academic credits must be required before graduation and/or CPA eligibility.
GPA: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Skills: Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude; critical thinking skills; proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access); excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexibility and adaptability as a team player; resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
Technical skills: Ability to learn and utilize technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
Location: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to other locations using personal transportation. Ability to travel to client sites with short notice may be required.
Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship is preferred.
