Job Description: Product Management Intern (Summer 2025)
Altruist is seeking a Product Management Intern for Summer 2025 to join its growing Investment Product team. This is a hands-on role focused on driving product innovation within the Trading, Portfolio Management, or Rebalancing teams.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in defining and refining the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for trading, portfolio management, and rebalancing features.
• Conduct market research, gather user feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation (in collaboration with Product Managers).
• Collaborate with engineering, design, operations, and compliance teams to ensure successful product development, testing, and deployment.
• Support product launch activities, including user documentation, training materials, and client communication.
• Analyze data and user behavior to assess the impact of new features and identify areas for optimization.
• Create detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
• Provide support in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure product quality and reliability.
Qualifications:
• Experience: At least one previous Product Management Internship or Software Engineering Internship, preferably at a startup and/or FinTech company.
• Education: B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a similar field (preferred).
• Technical Aptitude: Technologically savvy and able to quickly learn new technologies.
• Ownership: Demonstrated pride and attention to detail in work.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills—both listening and sharing perspectives.
• Resilience: Ability to overcome challenges and maintain focus.
• Assurance: Confident yet humble, open to different perspectives.
• Creative Problem Solving: Ability to identify problems and creatively develop solutions.
Bonus Points:
• Basic understanding of financial markets, investment products, and custodial services.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on user experience and product quality.
• Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python.
