Job Description: Spectrum Summer Internship

This is a full-time, 10-week internship (May 28, 2025 – August 1, 2025) designed to provide essential business insights and hands-on experience in computer science or information technology. It’s a learning-intensive program offering professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and mentorship. The internship is a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work.

The Internship Experience:

Spectrum’s internships aim to provide:

• Opportunities to gain and elevate skills in a robust business setting.
• First-rate, hands-on experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Networking opportunities with industry professionals, including a formal mentor and interactions with senior executives.

Intern Responsibilities (approximately 80% of the internship):

• Understanding and coding basic features, functions, and definitions.
• Writing clean, maintainable code following established coding standards.
• Implementing basic functionality based on provided design and guidance.
• Understanding technical requirements and technical design documents.
• Utilizing code branching strategies and change control methodologies.
• Assisting in fixing defects.
• Participating in planning, review, and status meetings.

Professional Development (approximately 20% of the internship):

• Kickoff Conference (May 28, 2025)
• Webinars
• Community service
• Cross-functional project
• Final presentations

Required Qualifications:

• Enrollment in an accredited college or university, graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2025 and May 2026.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Ability to travel locally for internship events.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming experience in Java, JavaScript, or React.
• Experience with database and repository tools (e.g., GIT).
• Basic knowledge of coding principles.
• Understanding of technical systems and programming.
• Ability to follow standard practices and procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in software (Adobe, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word).
