Job Description: Graduate-level Research & Development Co-op

Job Summary: Students will be assigned projects based on their skills and the company’s current needs. All projects hold significant strategic and/or operational importance.

Responsibilities:

• Partnering with leadership to identify and address areas for efficiency improvement and benchmark against industry best practices.
• Becoming a process owner; thoroughly reviewing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and proactively suggesting solutions.
• Learning continuous improvement methodologies (PPI, Six Sigma, etc.) and promoting improvement initiatives.
• Adhering to all company safety, training, and quality regulations (ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.).
• Executing experimental plans, analyzing data, and contributing to technical reports and product summaries.
• Investigating new methods/technologies and maintaining accurate lab notebooks to protect intellectual property according to Thermo Fisher’s standards.
• Collaborating with various departments (Business Development, Quality, Operations, Technical Services, Marketing) in new product commercialization.

Qualifications:

• Graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering or a Life Sciences-related field.
• 0 years of work experience required; previous internships are preferred.
• Consistent record of success demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Proactive, results-oriented, and adaptable to ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. (F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT visas are not accepted for this position.)

Compensation & Relocation:

• hourly rate: $29.00 – $38.50 (depending on location and cost of living).
• Relocation stipend: $5,000 (for students living 50+ miles from the co-op location).
