Job Description (Internship):
Marriott Vacations Worldwide offers a College Internship Program, a three-to-six-month immersion experience providing hands-on work in a specific department, with cross-training in another. The program includes comprehensive onboarding, operational duties, eLearning opportunities, virtual meetings with company leaders, networking with other interns, and an innovation project. Successful interns receive strong consideration for future employment opportunities. The Summer Resort Operations College Internship Program is located in Galloway, NJ, starting in May 2025. Housing and relocation are the responsibility of the intern.
The internship offers several department options:
• Recreation/Activities: Interns will promote resort activities to children and adults (e.g., trivia, games, educational programs). They will build guest experiences and learn about activities planning, coordination, promotion, health & fitness, childcare, and leadership.
• Housekeeping: Interns will learn villa cleaning, room inspections, assignments, and leadership tasks like property inspections, inventory, and supply ordering. Collaboration with other departments (front desk, safety & security, engineering) is included.
• Food & Beverage: Interns will rotate through front- and back-of-house operations in various food outlets (pool bar, marketplace, restaurant). They will learn server, food prep/cook, expeditor, and bar responsibilities, plus leadership tasks such as par levels, alcohol handling, inventory, and ordering. Collaboration with the recreation department for events is also part of the role.
• Safety & Security: Interns will learn guest relations, loss prevention, safety, investigations, complaint handling, and leadership tasks. Duties include property walks, pool safety oversight, lock issue resolution, parking management, and lost & found services.
Internship Requirements:
• Full availability for any shift (mornings, nights, weekends, holidays).
• On-site work at the Galloway, NJ location.
• Currently pursuing (or recently graduated within the past 6 months) a college degree.
• Preferred major: Hospitality or Business Management (undecided majors considered).
