Job Description:

This posting seeks students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees in technical fields (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Security) for co-op or internship opportunities within ACL’s cybersecurity division. The work involves contributing to projects at the forefront of customer and internally funded research and development (R&D). The team focuses on developing and implementing advanced cyber capabilities.

Specific Responsibilities and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess skills in one or more of the following areas:

Software Development: Proficiency in C, C++, and Python is essential. Experience with debuggers (gdb, Valgrind, windbg) is also required.
Networking: A deep understanding of network protocols and inter-process communication is crucial.
Research: The ability to execute guided technical research tasks is vital.
Kernel/User-space Development: Demonstrated skills in either kernel-space or user-space development are highly desirable.
Reverse Engineering: Experience in reverse engineering techniques is a plus.

Desired (but not required) Skills:

While not mandatory, experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:

• Applied research skills
• Embedded systems development
• Compiler design and implementation
• Machine learning/Artificial Intelligence
• Static and dynamic reverse engineering (x86/x86_64, MIPS, ARM, or PowerPC)
• Vulnerability analysis (source code or binaries)
• Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Prevention System (PSP) design and implementation
• Cyber/IO/CNO R&D

Other Requirements:

• Eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Ability to work onsite full-time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. A 4×10-hour day schedule (3 days off per week) is offered.
• Self-motivation, a passion for cybersecurity, and strong research and prototyping skills are highly valued. Selected candidates will be expected to present results and demonstrate prototypes to team members and customers.
