Job Description: Internship Assignment – AI-Driven Process Optimization
This internship offers a BSc student (IT, Engineering, Management, or similar) the opportunity to explore the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Canon Production Printing (CPP) Consumables. The core focus is identifying and implementing AI-powered solutions to enhance the work processes of indirect employees, primarily engineers.
The assignment involves:
1. Mapping Work Activities: Begin by meticulously documenting the work activities of selected indirect employees at CPP Consumables. This requires a thorough understanding of their current processes and workflows.
2. AI-Driven Enhancement: Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot Pro (though other tools are permissible), to support and improve these work activities. This involves evaluating how AI can automate tasks, enhance efficiency, and improve overall productivity.
3. Lean Perspective: Analyze the current work processes from a Lean perspective, identifying potential “waste” that can be eliminated or minimized through the application of AI tools.
4. Best Practices: Develop a list of best practices for utilizing AI tools to achieve optimal efficiency and productivity gains. This will include specific recommendations based on your findings.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using AI tools like Copilot or ChatGPT. Experience with a range of AI tools is a plus.
• Fluency in English; Dutch language proficiency is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Availability for a 4-6 month internship, starting in February 2025.
