Job Description:

This is a summer internship for an Undergraduate PPI Specialist focusing on continuous improvement initiatives. The internship is for 10-12 weeks, starting either May 12th or June 16th, 2025. The role is based in an office environment (standard Monday-Friday schedule).

Responsibilities: Interns will be matched to projects based on their abilities and business needs. Projects are strategically and/or operationally important. Specific responsibilities for Industrial Engineering interns may include:

• Learning continuous improvement methodologies and PPI Business System topics (lean leadership, 5S, built-in quality).
• Supporting improvement initiatives across the business.
• Creating content for social media and the internal PPI Carlsbad site to showcase projects, events, and accomplishments.
• Benchmarking against industry standard processes and offering innovative solutions.
• Working with other functions to implement solutions using the PPI 8-step process.
• Training associates in PPI tools and concepts.
• Working on Visual Management, Lean Manufacturing methodologies, and Continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate student (Supply Chain or Engineering-related degree) graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
• Proven track record demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Ability to champion change, achieve results, and navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship (F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT visas are not eligible).

Compensation:

• hourly rate: $22.00 – $29.25 (dependent on location and cost-of-living). A separate listing mentions a range of $21.00–$24.00 for California.
Relocation stipend: $5,000 (if student lives 50+ miles from the internship location).
