About Rocket Lab

Rocket Lab is a leading global provider of launch and space systems. They design, build, and launch rockets and satellites for a variety of missions, including scientific exploration, Earth observation, climate change mitigation, national security, and technological demonstrations. Their Electron rocket, operational since 2018, is one of the world’s most frequently launched rockets, providing reliable access to orbit. They are also developing Neutron, a next-generation reusable rocket capable of launching large payloads. Rocket Lab’s space systems division has supported over 1,700 missions, contributing to significant projects like the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA’s Psyche Mission, Artemis I, and the Mars Ingenuity helicopter.

Job Description: People and Culture Intern

This internship is based at Rocket Lab’s Long Beach, California location. The intern will gain hands-on experience in People & Culture operations and learn about Rocket Lab’s employee lifecycle management.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with a mentor and other team members to apply existing knowledge and develop new skills.
• Collaborate with a fast-paced team to solve real-world challenges using engineering and industry concepts.
• Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with mentors and supervisors to track progress and facilitate learning.
• Attend tech talks and networking events with other interns and employees.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate program in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3+ months of corporate experience in Human Resources or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• 6+ months of corporate experience in Human Resources or related field.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks starting in May or June 2025.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay range: $25.00 USD.
• Potential relocation stipend.
• Base salary determined on a case-by-case basis, considering skills, education, and experience.
