Job Description:
Software Development Engineer-Test (SDE-T) Internship
Are you passionate about building secure, stable, and testable code? Do you enjoy working in a team environment on automation frameworks?
Amazon is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer-Test intern to join one of their many lines of business in the summer of 2025. As an SDE-T intern, you will use your coding knowledge to create automated test scripts, identify issues in both the original software and testing scripts, and collaborate with experienced engineers on innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to use technology to validate and verify software.
• Invent, refine, and develop solutions to help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Build tools and automation frameworks that enable QA Engineers to easily automate tests.
• Troubleshoot, research, and resolve defects.
• Create and manage bug reports and communicate with the team.

Location:
The internship can be located in several US cities, including Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, DC, MD, VA, Austin, New York City, and Minneapolis. You can express your location preferences during the application process, but final placement depends on availability and business needs.
Requirements:
• Experience with at least one modern language (Java, Python, C++, C#), including object-oriented design.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Have an expected graduate date between October 2025 and September 2028.
• Be able to work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12-week internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience from a technical internship.
• Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimization).
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
• Ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems.
• Ability to think abstractly.
Compensation:
The base pay for this position ranges from $47.84/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $96.15/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
