Job Description: Intern / Trainee – Corporate Tax Services
This internship within PwC’s core tax practice offers opportunities to participate in various aspects of tax compliance engagements. The role involves working as part of a team to solve complex business issues, from strategy to execution. Interns will gain practical experience in:
• Tax Compliance and Advisory: Assisting clients in meeting their tax obligations, both domestically and internationally. This includes advising on various aspects of tax planning, such as managing working capital, profit sharing, and transfer pricing (pricing implications of goods and services between related parties). Providing advice on the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other business deals. Improving clients’ tax functions to mitigate risk and enhance decision-making.
• Tax Strategy and Compliance: Contributing to the development and implementation of tax strategies for businesses, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Focusing on maximizing post-tax profits. Providing application support to optimize corporate tax practices.
• Research and Analysis: Researching and analyzing tax laws, rules, and regulations, applying them to specific client situations. Utilizing various tools and techniques to support research, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Data Handling and Analysis: Handling, manipulating, and analyzing data responsibly. Leveraging data visualization tools and building models using large, complex datasets. Exposure to automation and digitization within a professional services environment.
• Communication and Collaboration: Interacting effectively with various levels of client and firm management through written and verbal communications. Working collaboratively within a team, building relationships with team members, and actively seeking feedback. Demonstrating creative thinking and initiative.
• Professional Development: Participating in PwC’s Professional development framework, learning about how PwC operates and adds value to clients. Keeping up-to-date with technical developments in the field of corporate tax. Embracing diverse perspectives and upholding the firm’s ethical code of conduct.

The internship is typically offered to students in their third or fourth year of a relevant undergraduate program. The role is entry-level, and prior professional experience is not required. However, preferred qualifications include demonstrated success in researching and analyzing tax matters, interacting with clients and firm management, and a strong interest in pursuing a career in tax. Preference is given to candidates pursuing a CPA license.
