Job Description: Corporate Tax Intern/Trainee
This internship provides opportunities to work alongside a team of problem solvers on complex business issues, from strategic planning to execution. The role involves assisting clients in meeting their tax obligations while minimizing the impact on their business. Responsibilities include:
• Advising clients: On local and international tax matters, acting as a strategic consultant on business analysis, working capital management, and profit sharing for partners.
• Analyzing pricing: Assisting organizations in understanding the tax implications of goods and services pricing between related parties.
• Providing deal advice: Offering guidance on the tax consequences of various business deals.
• Improving tax functions: Helping clients enhance their tax operations to mitigate risk and improve decision-making.
• Focusing on tax strategy: Contributing to the development and implementation of effective tax strategies for businesses.
• Ensuring tax compliance: Supporting clients in meeting all relevant tax regulations and requirements.
• Increasing post-tax profits: Working to maximize clients’ profits after tax obligations are met.
• Providing application support: Assisting in the implementation and use of best corporate tax practices.
Intern-Specific Responsibilities:
• Participating in various phases of tax compliance projects.
• Researching and analyzing tax laws, rules, and regulations, applying them to specific situations.
• Demonstrating creative thinking and initiative while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Actively seeking guidance and feedback from senior team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a 3.0 GPA.
• Preferred: Interns are typically in their 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program, joining during winter/spring or summer prior to graduation. Progress towards or possession of a CPA license is preferred.
• Essential Skills: Research and analysis of tax laws and regulations; effective written and verbal communication with various levels of management; self-motivation; and a commitment to personal and professional development. Experience researching business and industry trends is also desirable, along with exposure to automation and digitization in a professional services environment. This includes working with large datasets and data visualization tools.
