Job Description: Summer 2025 Systems Engineer Intern

Lockheed Martin Rotary Mission Systems in Moorestown, New Jersey is seeking a Summer 2025 Systems Engineer Intern. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of the Aegis Combat System, a premier self-defense system used by the U.S. and allied Navies.

Responsibilities:

• Defining mission-critical requirements.
• Developing windows and user interfaces (UI) focused on a positive user experience for military personnel.
• Integrating new capabilities into the Aegis Combat System.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Familiarity with analyzing and conducting code inspections in Java, C++, or Python to troubleshoot software issues.
U.S. Citizenship is required; this position necessitates a government security clearance.
• Ability to obtain special access to the facility.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems.
• Familiarity with Agile product development methodologies.
• Familiarity with Test Automation.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering and methodologies like SysML.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Security Clearance:** A government security clearance is required for this position. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Work Location and Schedule:

• This is an onsite, full-time position at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
• The schedule is a 4×10-hour day, with 3 days off per week. Lockheed Martin offers various alternative work schedules for added employee flexibility.
