IT Service Desk Intern
The Miami HEAT is seeking an exceptional IT Service Desk Intern to join their small, knowledgeable team of Service Desk Coordinators, reporting to the Service Desk Manager. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and grow your skillset while working in an exciting environment with the Miami HEAT team and culture.
Responsibilities:
• Provide first-level help desk support to internal office users, IT team members, and customers regarding Ticketmaster technology.
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop hardware and software issues.
• Repair and maintain laser printers and ensure Ethernet patch cabling is installed safely and neatly.
• Contribute to improving documentation for procedural IT Service Desk tasks and lead various small IT Service Desk projects.
• Organize, track, and maintain stock for various hardware systems and make recommendations for hardware/software purchases.
• Monitor and remediate software updates for desktop applications and use a ticket management system to track, document, and maintain all Service Desk requests.
• Respond promptly to virus, malware, and security threats while implementing preventative measures.
• Enforce company security settings, software settings, and user restrictions to ensure desktop and device compliance.
Qualifications:
• Current student enrolled in school.
• Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Basic understanding of:
• Microsoft Directory Services (DHCP, Active Directory, DNS)
• Windows user rights and permissions
• Network topology and LAN infrastructure
• Microsoft Office/O365 Applications
• Microsoft Windows 7/10
• Repair and maintenance of network laser printers, desktop/phone/tablet maintenance, repair, and installation
• Strong teamwork skills, willingness to receive constructive criticism, and positive attitude.
