Job Description: Investments Internship
This internship program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain valuable experience and contribute to the success of RGA Investments while simultaneously developing their career prospects. As an intern, you will be part of an intern pool, collaborating with fellow interns across various departments within the Investment division.
You will gain exposure to:
• Global Portfolio Management: This includes reviewing, analyzing, and accounting for investments, building strategic asset allocation plans, and collaborating with legal and business segments to achieve yield objectives.
• Strategic Execution: This involves supporting the planning, implementation, and execution of strategic initiatives across Investment Operations, providing project support to various teams, and developing process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Derivative Operations: This entails understanding legal structures, ensuring compliance with internal governance, maintaining transactional data integrity, and reporting model inputs and valuations.
• Securities Operations: This includes confirming and settling internal trades, processing corporate action transactions, ensuring proper processing of externally managed activities, and performing daily reconciliations.
• Risk & Quantitative Analysis: This involves enhancing the Stress Testing framework, designing and maintaining a quantitative analysis platform, aiding in investment compliance monitoring, and contributing to risk reporting.
Specific tasks may include:
• Developing tools and processes for risk management under various economic scenarios.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining an advanced quantitative analysis platform.
• Researching, designing, developing, and implementing models and tools under guidance.
• Building automated processes to improve efficiency and free up experienced colleagues’ time.
• Gaining experience with industry-leading technologies such as Bloomberg, BRS Aladdin, Domino, Alteryx, Wrike, RPA, and Power BI.
• Utilizing proprietary systems to retrieve data and perform risk analysis.
• Enhancing reporting for business lines engaging in derivative activity.
• Managing client relationships through software tracking vendors, contracts, and visit summaries.
• Processing corporate actions, external trades, transfers, cash forecasts, and reconciliations.
• Improving documentation for better understanding of data usage within RGA Investments.
Requirements:
• Full-time enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Accounting, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Creativity, adaptability, and a self-starter mentality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical proficiency, programming experience, and process improvement/automation skills.
• Preferred skills include expertise in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), SQL, R, Python.
