Job Description: World Internship Program

Program Overview:

The World Internship Program is a 10-week summer program designed to develop a pool of talented professionals ready to join World after graduation. Interns gain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry, including distribution models, risk identification, marketing, service timelines, implementation, and renewal processes.

Internship Experience:

Placement: Interns are placed within one of the following departments:
• Commercial Lines
• Personal Lines
• Surety Placement
• Claims
Responsibilities:
• Work alongside experienced teams and contribute to the timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
• Learn how World helps clients improve financial performance while mitigating risk exposure.
• Develop a foundation for a successful career in the insurance industry.
• Gain valuable skills and build a network to launch a successful career.
• Support the development of positive client and teammate relationships through advocacy, excellent service, and professional communication.
• Acquire skills in creating and presenting business proposals, understanding risk management, and developing time management strategies.

Program Components:

In addition to daily work with their managers, interns participate in:

Orientation: Held at World headquarters in Iselin, New Jersey.
Speaker Presentations: Presentations by executive leadership, including the CEO and COO, providing insight into World’s business strategy, operating model, and key priorities.
monthly Webinars: Webinars hosted by executive leadership.
Self-Paced Online Program: Provided by the Council for Insurance Agents and Brokers.
Networking and Social Events: Fun networking opportunities, volunteer activities, and social events.
Developmental Workshops: Workshops designed to enhance skills.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be currently enrolled in a business program at an accredited university or college, graduating in May 2026 or December 2025. Graduates and students enrolled in Insurance and Risk Management programs are strongly preferred.
Location: Must be willing to work onsite, Monday-Friday, between 9am and 5pm. Remote internships are not offered.
Experience: Prior customer support experience is preferred.
Skills:
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Self-motivated and driven, with a sense of urgency and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and problem-solving.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
