Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group

Responsibilities:

International Tax Support: Assist clients in analyzing tax implications of working internationally, filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, preparing Federal and State individual income tax returns, utilizing foreign tax credits, and implementing global tax planning strategies.
International Operations Setup: Help corporations establish operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
Executive Compensation & Global Payroll: Determine compensation packages for executives working on international assignments, assist with global payroll setup and support, and ensure compliance with regulations in multiple locations.
Global Mobility Program: Provide global coordination and support to corporate clients in managing their global workforce, implementing efficient processes and technologies.
Engagement Administration & Scoping: Assist associates and senior associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
Technology Development: Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance, or equivalent program.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese with the ability to use both languages in a business environment is a plus.
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred.
