Job Description:

This is a 10-week summer internship opportunity for undergraduate students in PepsiCo’s Procurement department in North America. The Procurement function is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver cost-effective, sustainable, and reliable supplies for both people and the planet.

Interns will work across two primary business units:

Beverages: Located in Purchase, NY.
Foods: Located in Plano, TX.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing procurement strategies and programs to improve quality, productivity, sustainability, and innovation.
• Gaining expertise in procurement fundamentals and specific categories (packaging, ingredients, supply assurance, commodity risk management, and indirects).
• Gathering and analyzing data to provide meaningful insights.
• Working with cross-functional global teams on focused projects.

Projects are often designed to address a critical business problem and require interns to:

• Think strategically and provide comprehensive recommendations.
• Work autonomously with support from managers and the broader Procurement function.

Interns also benefit from:

Specific areas of focus include:

Packaging: Cans, bottles, chip bags, etc.
Ingredients: Vegetable Oils, Sugar, Corn, etc.
Supply Assurance: Planning & analysis, logistics, manufacturing, etc.
Commodity Risk Management: Hedging programs, risk mitigation, competitive analysis, etc.
Indirects: IT, Marketing Equipment, Services, etc.

Previous intern projects have included:

• Analyzing the feasibility of vertical integration vs. external manufacturing for Popcorners.
• Assessing the advantages and disadvantages of localizing overseas operations.
• Developing a sustainability scheme for apple juice sourcing.
• Tracking supplier greenhouse gas reductions and optimizing results.
• Comparing different sourcing strategies (RFPs, e-auctions, blind auctions, reverse auctions) and their applications.

Compensation & Benefits:

• hourly pay ranging from $21.50 to $40.19/hour.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, or Agronomy (other related majors may be considered).
• Highly motivated and self-driven.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Experience with a consumer-packaged goods corporation is preferred.
• Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, operations, supply chain, or consulting is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have indefinite right to work in the United States.
• Graduation date: December 2025 or May 2026.
