Summer Internship Program

Freeport LNG is excited to announce their 2025 Summer Internship Program, offering 12-week opportunities starting in late May and running through early August. This program provides a unique chance for students to gain real-world experience in various fields:

Engineering: Interns will contribute to engineering teams in areas such as Process Engineering, Process Safety, Electrical, Production, Instrumentation, and Mechanical.
Projects: Interns will collaborate on capital projects, working in cross-functional teams to develop solutions for project challenges.
Supply Chain: Interns will assist in streamlining the contract and contractor management process, optimizing material procurement, and improving logistical efficiency.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Interns will be actively involved in:

Technical Support: Providing day-to-day technical assistance, design, analysis, and report generation.
Project Management: Participating in project planning, execution, and close-out activities.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interacting with various teams, including operations, maintenance, commercial departments, and vendors.
Safety: Ensuring adherence to safety standards and participating in safety initiatives.
Mentorship: Working closely with a dedicated mentor to guide their experience and provide support.
Presentation: Delivering a final presentation to senior leadership highlighting the projects and contributions made during the internship.

Possible Work Includes:

Engineering:
• Technical service and analysis
• Project management
• Engineering design and modeling
• Safety assessments
Projects:
• Process flow diagrams (PFD) and P&ID reviews
• HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reviews
• Model and pre-start-up reviews
• Commissioning, start-up, and post-start-up activities
• Troubleshooting and post-start-up support
Supply Chain:
• Contract and contractor management support
• Bidding, purchasing, and delivery of materials
• Data analysis, reporting, and improvement recommendations
• Expediting and logistics support
• Inventory management, material planning, storage, and delivery
• Internal documentation development and process improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Instrument Engineering, Controls Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
• Sophomore through Senior or Graduate Student level.
• Expected graduation date: Fall 2025 through Spring/Fall 2028.
• Minimum of 10 continuous weeks availability for the internship.

HSE Responsibilities:

• Support Freeport LNG’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System.
• Actively participate in HSE and Process Safety Management System Policies.
• Prioritize HSE concerns in all activities.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.

Working Conditions and Physical Expectations:

• Professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant.
• Ability to walk throughout areas of the facility.
• Standing and/or sitting continuously to perform job functions.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, handle objects, tools, and controls.
• Ability to drive to other work locations as required.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, climb, balance, crouch, and handle items up to 30 lbs.
• Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
• Ability to distinguish color to perform job functions.
• Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Obtain and maintain access requirements for all Freeport LNG sites.
