About the Security Consulting Engineer Intern Role
This role is within Cisco’s Security Customer Experience (CX) organization. The CX team supports customers throughout the lifecycle of their security solutions, from understanding business needs to deploying custom solutions, optimizing existing ones, and developing specific applications.
As a Security Consulting Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities:
• Attend on-site design and configuration sessions with a Security Consulting mentor.
• Collect requirements from customers for projects that align with their critical business goals.
• Define business goals and requirements for integration efforts in collaboration with a team mentor.
• Identify and support large-scale-design efforts for customer network integrations.
• Configure lab devices with configuration templates or system configurations for use in customer production implementations.
• Analyze and design policy creation for Identity Services, Firewalls, Visibility Solutions, and Cloud-based solutions.
• Analyze customer configurations and provide feedback on potential improvements to align with business goals.
• Evaluate customer logs or NetFlow data to recommend improvements based on business objectives.
• Learn and understand Security Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines.
• Leverage programming languages (Java/Python/C++) and open source automation platforms (Ansible/Chef/Terraform) to develop tailored automation capabilities for customers using Cisco APIs.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Upcoming graduate of a technical degree or certification program from a Technical Boot Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College, or 4-Year University.
• Knowledge of IT systems, networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, network devices and applications, OSI 7-layer model, or code development.
• Legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying without visa support or sponsorship.
