Summer Internship Program

Russell Investments’ Summer Internship Program is a full-time, 10-12 week program designed to provide students with real-world experience in investment management. Interns are considered full members of their respective teams and contribute to meaningful projects.

Job Description

Who They Are Looking For:

Background: Students with coursework in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Accounting, or Computer Science.
Experience: Undergraduate students, preferably finishing their sophomore or junior year.
Skills: Full-time availability (40 hours per week) for 10-12 weeks. Strong intellectual curiosity, “people first” mentality, and integrity. Genuine interest in financial markets.
Bonus Skills: Data analytics (Excel, Power BI), Programming skills (SQL, Python, or R).

Intern Position Examples:

Trading – Global Trading Management: Analyze trading activity, develop execution methodologies, and manage data to gain insights and improve implementation capabilities.
Alternatives – Private Markets Manager Research: Analyze fund managers and their strategies in private markets, including venture capital, real estate, private debt, responsible investing, and buyouts. Conduct quantitative analysis and write reports for portfolio managers and analysts.
Equities – Portfolio Management: Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts on various aspects of investment management, including portfolio implementation, analysis, investment process, and reporting.
ESG and Active Ownership – Investment Research: Support responsible investing initiatives by contributing to proxy voting analysis, reviewing ESG disclosures, and preparing materials for stock-specific engagement opportunities.

Pay Range: $29.00 – $31.00 per hour

Important Notes:

Visa Requirements: The internship program is not open to applicants on F-1 or J-1 visas or those requiring future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
Graduation Date: Graduation date should be no earlier than December 2025. Preference is given to sophomores and juniors.
Application Process: Applications are reviewed between October 22-30. Selected candidates will be invited for in-person interviews between November 4-15. Team placement will be determined by late November/early December.
