Deloitte Discovery Internship (Sophomore/Junior) Tax
Position Summary:
Join Deloitte’s select group of Discovery interns and gain an inside look at the professional services world. This internship is open to all eligible freshman, sophomore, and junior students. Work You’ll Do:
• Project Involvement: Interns are assigned to one or more client projects, receiving mentorship and support to ensure success on the engagement.
• National and Local Learning: Participate in a variety of learning and networking events organized at the national and local level.
• Ongoing Training: Benefit from ongoing learning events, including lunch and learns, industry/service line spotlights, and regularly scheduled training programs designed to enhance technical and client service skills.
• Career Insight: Gain first-hand understanding of a career at Deloitte and build a cross-functional professional network.
• Social Activities: Engage in social activities planned throughout the internship period to foster networking with Deloitte professionals.
• Essential Skills: Demonstrate adaptability to change, strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, self-confidence, and a team-oriented mindset.
How You’ll Grow:
• Mentorship: Each intern is assigned a mentorship team, including a counselor (typically a manager or senior manager) and an onboarding advisor (a peer-level buddy). These mentors provide career guidance, feedback, and insights into the internship experience.
• Formal Mentoring: Additional formal and informal mentors are identified during the internship, fostering potential long-term connections with Deloitte.
• Goal Setting and Evaluation: Participate in formal goal-setting and evaluation processes throughout the internship.
• Potential for Future Opportunities: High-performing Discovery interns may receive subsequent internship opportunities at Deloitte. Freshmen and sophomores may continue in the Discovery program through their sophomore summer. Sophomores and juniors have the opportunity to receive a client service internship offer upon completion of the Discovery Internship Experience.
Qualifications:
Required:
• College Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, STEM, or a related field.
• Strong academic record (minimum GPA of 3.0).
• Ability to balance strong academics with extracurricular activities.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to be physically present in the office 2-3 days per week.
• Start date for the position is Summer 2025.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
Preferred:
• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2).
