Job Description – Investor Relations Internship

This ten-week internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the financial markets through the lens of CSX’s methods and culture. You will gain invaluable experience by working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real-world projects.

Here’s a breakdown of the primary activities and responsibilities:

Analytical Support: Contribute to the development of investor presentations, earnings reports, internal strategy documents, and respond to ad-hoc market data requests from executives.
Relationship Building: Collaborate with internal business partners to help the Head of Investor Relations create external messaging about the company’s operational, commercial, and financial aspects.
Analytical Communication: Communicate your analyses through presentations delivered to senior management.
Data Analysis: Develop and utilize data tools to quantify sell-side and buy-side expectations and identify new trends or changes.
Investor Engagement: Assist with investor targeting, tracking, and everyday communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program from an accredited institution.
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Major or Concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related major field of study.
• Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship.
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale).

Knowledge and Skills:

• Academic distinction with financial or quantitative interest/talent.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, with particular familiarity with equities.
• Proven leadership ability and initiative.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Work inside an office environment.
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences.
• Work within established deadlines.
• Successfully complete a background check and drug test.
