About the Starbucks Summer Internship Program

Job Description: Packaging Engineering Intern
As an innovative, high-growth company, Starbucks relies on a world-class Research and Development organization. This internship will provide support for packaging challenges across food and beverage, with a focus on solutions that enhance store productivity and overall sustainability. Responsibilities may include:
• Researching technology
• Conducting lab testing
• Designing structural packaging
• Collaborating directly with store partners to enable innovation
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with product development, equipment engineering, store design, sourcing, and other departments to identify problems and develop solutions.
• Deliver innovative solutions: Work in a fast-paced environment to explore ideas and provide novel solutions to complex problems.
• Conduct experiments and analyze data: Design and execute experiments, interpret data, and make technical recommendations related to packaging and sustainability.
• Contribute to packaging improvement and productivity initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
• Driven and Results-Oriented: Has a strong desire for results, a commitment to learning, and the ability to quickly build relationships.
• Problem-Solver: Capable of simplifying complex issues and identifying new approaches.
• Technically Adept: Demonstrated ability to make significant technical scientific advances using internal and external resources.
• Experimentation Expertise: Experience creating Design of Experiments (DoE), familiarity with lab testing equipment, and statistical knowledge.
• Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Qualifications:
• Active enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Preference for Packaging Science/Engineering majors.
• Ability to work full-time from June – early September 2025.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
