About This Job:

CarMax interns work on various aspects of the customer experience, researching and developing new digital products. They contribute to shaping products and tools, learning from a culture of experimentation and quickly impacting the business. Interns have a direct role in improving performance and ensuring customers have a positive buying experience.

Fresh ideas and diverse experiences: The team is looking for individuals who can bring new perspectives to areas like API development, data warehousing, large-scale system design, networking, security, AI, data engineering, cloud architecture, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile.

Key responsibilities:
• Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software for customers and associates.
• Working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Participating in business customer meetings, design sessions, and presentations to senior leaders.
• Contributing to products/projects that drive associate success.
• Attending social events and volunteer opportunities with other interns and team members.

Skills Required:

Technical proficiency: Strong knowledge of programming languages and software design patterns.
Problem-solving skills: Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities, with attention to detail.
Communication and collaboration: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively in teams.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Passion for learning: A genuine interest in developing both technical and soft skills.
Collaborative problem-solving: Ability and desire to collaborate on complex business and technical challenges.
Relevant experience: Coursework, projects, research, internships, or practical experience in computer science, business information technology, or related fields.
Computer Science or Business Information Technology Degree: Preferred.
Work authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
