Job Description
ServiceNow offers 12-week summer internship opportunities across various business functions, including Software Engineering. Interns will participate in executive speaker series, career development workshops, philanthropic efforts, and team-building activities. They will also have access to online learning resources and a dedicated Summer Coach to support their career growth.
# Software Engineering Internship Opportunities within the UTG – Unified Technology Group:
Application Engineering (Full Stack)
• Develop across the full stack of web technologies (JavaScript, Angular.js, React, HTML, CSS, and SQL)
• Build report interfaces and data feeds
• Work in a Scrum-based Agile development process
• Design and implement user-friendly software that allows for customization
• Preferred: experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Machine Learning
• Design NLP components for ServiceNow NLU capabilities by enhancing deep learning algorithms
• Participate in data collection and benchmark creation
• Develop innovative, patentable ideas
• Advance the natural language capabilities of the ServiceNow platform
Platform Engineering (Full Stack and Back End)
• Become a key member of the Cloud Platform Development group
• Develop skills to become a successful contributor to the team
• Work side-by-side with experienced developers on real business problems
• Implement web interfaces using JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular and CSS
Systems Engineering
• Build highly scalable Cloud Infrastructure Automation
• Solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment
• Develop in Python, JavaScript, or Go to build services and automation tools
• Preferred: experience with Linux, networking, and/or container technologies
UI/UX Engineering (Front End)
• Build highly interactive web-based application UIs
• Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for other developers
• Take full lifecycle responsibility for software development
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an accredited university as a full-time student, pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, or a related field
• Graduating December 2025, or later
• Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization
• Commit to a 12-week internship in Summer 2025 (May-August, or, June-September)
• Experience with languages such as Java, C++, Javascript, Python, or HTML/CSS
• High levels of creativity and problem-solving skills
• Preferred: Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internships, academic or personal projects, coding competitions, or publications
Compensation: For positions in the Bay Area, ServiceNow offers a base pay of $53.13 – $55.58, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions typically offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Compensation is based on the geographic location and subject to change based on work location. ServiceNow also offers health plans, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs.
