Job Description – Industrial Engineering Intern

This internship at UPS provides an opportunity to work on targeted projects, individually or in small teams, focused on improving operational efficiency and problem-solving.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Work measurement in Master Standard Data (MSD): Analyzing and optimizing work processes to improve efficiency.
Cost benefit analysis: Evaluating the financial impact of proposed changes and solutions.
Process improvement analysis: Identifying areas for improvement in existing processes and implementing solutions.
Operational planning: Contributing to the development and implementation of operational strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and/or a related engineering discipline.
• Effective statistical analysis skills.
• Strong research and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, idealism, creativity, and a dedication to achieving results.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal).

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen, National of the U.S., a lawfully admitted permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for UPS.
• Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions.
• Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the internship or willing to relocate.
• Must be a current student enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or a recent graduate from a degreed college/university program within the past 24 months.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week.
