KPMG Internship Opportunity in Economic and Valuation Services
KPMG is currently seeking an intern to join their Economic and Valuation Services practice. The internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and develop essential skills in valuation.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze industry dynamics and financial condition of peer companies.
• Evaluate business plans and adjust financial statements.
• Build complex financial models, including discounted cash flow analyses, capital asset pricing model, market multiples methods, and replacement cost valuation approaches.
• Participate in due diligence activities on mergers and acquisitions, public-company purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment measurement, international restructurings, and private-company fairness opinions.
• Research, analyze, and communicate key qualitative and quantitative drivers of companies and industries.
• Analyze data and prepare documentation using various tools including MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power BI, Alteryx, and similar data analysis and visualization tools.
• Prepare proposals, executive presentations, memos, and valuation reports.
• Develop skills in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or an equivalent program.
• Must have additional academic credits to complete upon internship completion.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework or minor in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Data and Analytics is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of finance, financial statement analysis, quantitative and competitive analysis, complex financial modeling, and data manipulation.
• Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI), Alteryx, Tableau, artificial intelligence (AI), and similar tools.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using own means of transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
