Job Description

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a motivated and people-oriented individual to join their Finance team as a Finance Intern. This internship will provide a practical and educational experience, allowing the intern to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.

Key Focus Areas:

Field Accounting: The intern will gain experience in reviewing contracts, auditing receipts, conducting payroll accrual validations, analyzing closed cost centers, maintaining maintenance requests, conducting paperwork audits, and assisting with monthly close procedures.
Operations: The intern will assist with local new unit openings under the guidance of the FA New Business team.
Budget Management: The intern will support budget review and analysis, as well as assist with flash review and analysis.
Payroll: The intern will gain knowledge of payroll paperwork and processes, document retention, and processing payroll work orders.

Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a degree in accounting or finance.
• Must be an undergraduate student.
• General interest and knowledge in accounting and finance.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a drive for excellence.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and process improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
