Their internship program is designed to provide real-world experience while applying theoretical knowledge gained in college.

Job Description:

Electra.aero is seeking high school and college students or recent graduates in various engineering disciplines (aerospace, mechanical, structural, manufacturing, electrical, software, etc.) to join their summer internship program in 2025.

Internship Highlights:

• Gain real-world experience: Interns work on actual projects that are integral to the company’s development of electric aircraft.
• Apply theoretical knowledge: Interns use their education and collegiate practices to solve complex and technical challenges.
• Explore various fields: The internship program offers opportunities to work in areas like aerospace engineering, flight physics, flight control simulation, modeling, manufacturing, structural design and repairs, electrical engineering, and more.
• Location: The internship program is based in Northern Virginia, requiring relocation for the duration of the program.
• Teamwork: The internship program emphasizes collaboration and working closely with experienced professionals.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate programs in applicable engineering disciplines (or related STEM discipline)
• 0+ years of experience in relevant discipline areas (or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience)

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree progression is preferred
• Experience working on prototype development programs
• Experience with flight operations of electric aircraft
• Experience with flight test data reduction and aerodynamic and propulsion system analysis
• Experience with MATLAB / Simulink
• US Person (Citizen or Green Card) Preferred

Working Conditions:

• Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment, requiring proper safety precautions.
• Some physical effort may be required, handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, and various equipment.
• Fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
• May need to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Daily onsite office hours are required.

Salary:

• Electra’s salary range for this position is: $39,000 – 87,000
• Individual pay is based on factors like project budgets, skills, experience, education, role, level, location, and project, as well as the year of study.
