About Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program

This 10-week summer internship program introduces you to Bank of America and its Global Risk Management (GRM) group. GRM plays a crucial role in ensuring Bank of America pursues its responsible growth strategy through robust risk management practices. They oversee the company’s governance and strategy for global risk management, including relationships with key regulators worldwide.

What you’ll do:

Gain exposure to diverse risk types: You’ll learn about Bank of America’s approach to managing seven types of risk: strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, and reputational.
Dive deep into the industry: Develop your knowledge of the financial services industry, specifically within risk management.
Build valuable skills: Enhance your technical skills, industry knowledge, and familiarity with a corporate environment.
Contribute to real projects: You’ll be placed on a team where you’ll work on real-world projects, applying your skills and learning firsthand.
Network with industry experts: Build connections with risk executives and key stakeholders across various business lines.
Develop your leadership skills: Participate in mentoring programs, speaker series, and networking events designed to foster your growth.

Specific responsibilities may include:

• Implementing and maintaining risk management principles and policies.
• Developing and maintaining internal controls and processes to mitigate risks.
• Establishing and regularly updating a comprehensive risk management framework.
• Analyzing market movements to support front-line partners.
• Ensuring effective risk management practices are in place throughout the company.
• Presenting regulatory and reputational advice to senior leadership.
• Promoting a risk-aware culture within the company.

Global Risk Opportunities

You’ll be assigned to a team across one of the seven risk types, with internship opportunities supporting various business groups, such as:

• Global Compliance and Operational Risk
• Enterprise Financial Risk
• Enterprise Credit Risk
• Global Climate Risk
• Enterprise Independent Testing
• Regulatory Relations, Governance, and Strategy
• Global Markets Risk

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Graduation timeframe between November 2025 and August 2026.
• GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.
• Strong academic and technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
• Proven proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
• Common areas of study include: Finance, Supply Chain, Accounting, Public Policy, Economics, Compliance, Business Administration, Political Science/Legal, Mathematics, Engineering, and other related fields.
