Summer Internship Program Overview:
This 10-week paid internship program, starting June 2025, is designed for rising juniors and seniors seeking to launch their careers in finance and investments. Interns gain hands-on experience, valuable skills, and networking opportunities. The program includes:
• Weekly events like Lunch & Learns, Meet & Greets with senior leaders, and market calls.
• Training and development seminars.

• The opportunity to be considered for a full-time analyst role.
Internship Opportunities:
New York Life Investments Management:
Positions are offered in New York City and Jersey City on teams including Marketing, Product, Strategy, and Data & Technology.
Apogem Capital:
Based in New York, Chicago, and Richmond, Apogem Capital is a leading alternatives investor specializing in middle market investments. The internship focuses on developing a foundation in credit underwriting, financial analysis, and portfolio management. Positions are available in Finance & Accounting, Tax, and Business Intelligence.
MacKay Shields:
MacKay Shields has been a trusted partner for clients since 1938, helping them meet their investment goals through high-quality products and exceptional service. With locations in New York, California, and New Jersey, the firm offers internships on the Municipal Bond, High Yield, Fixed Income, and Marketing teams.
What You’ll Do:
Internship responsibilities vary depending on placement but may include:
• Creating and participating in individual and/or group presentations.
• Partnering with key internal stakeholders to drive efforts across various departments.
• Collaborating with investment partners to create new product marketing materials.
• Synthesizing research and developing concise presentations for new product recommendations.
• Helping prioritize and execute project management on new product launches.
• Assisting with planning and coordinating conferences/seminars/meetings.
• Participating in operational work, like updating databases, managing queues, and inputting client requests.
• Conducting credit research, security analysis, and industry/market research.
• Attending training and development seminars.
• Gaining exposure to senior leadership, subject matter experts, networking opportunities, and social events.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited 4-year university or college with an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027.
• Business, Finance, or related major preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Analyst Program:
At the end of the summer, interns will be considered for a full-time Analyst Program upon graduation. The Analyst Program is a 2-year program that rotates between various business areas.
