Job Description:

Emerging Markets Debt Summer Internship

The Emerging Markets Debt team at Lazard Asset Management is seeking a highly motivated and academically accomplished student to join them as an intern for the summer of 2025. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for students interested in emerging markets fixed income to gain real-world experience and contribute to a collaborative, experienced team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and implementing risk management strategies for emerging market fixed income portfolios.
• Conduct quantitative analysis and research to support risk assessment and decision-making processes.
• Contribute to P&L attributions for the EM Debt team.
• Collaborate with team members to identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic performance with a major in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or another technical field.
• Proficiency in coding (Python, R, VBA, or similar languages) is essential, along with familiarity with data analysis and quantitative modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in financial markets, particularly emerging market fixed income, and understanding of bonds and derivatives valuations.
• Research assistant experience is beneficial.

Compensation:

Pro-rated base annual salary of $90,000
