Facilitator Position at Ethicon
Ethicon is currently searching for a Facilitator to join their team in San Angelo, Texas. This position is a key leadership role in the manufacturing process, directly overseeing a team of associates and working to achieve company goals in the areas of safety, quality, customer service, and financial efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Safety & Compliance: Understand and adhere to Ethicon’s environmental and safety policies, J&J Pollution Prevention Goals, and regulatory requirements. Follow J&J standards of behavior.
• Supervisory Leadership: Provide first-line supervision within a manufacturing unit. Supervise in alignment with company policies to meet production goals. Assign duties, offer guidance to team members, monitor work operations, and evaluate employee performance.
• Team Safety: Ensure the safety of all shift members.
• Decision Making: Make responsible decisions to meet operational objectives, recognizing that errors could result in program delays and additional resource allocation.
• Quality Assurance: Comply with all quality management systems, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO14001, OSHAS18001).
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement in existing systems and equipment. Work with related departments to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
• Supplier Relations: Assist in contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Problem Solving: Respond independently to routine problems.
• Production Management: Oversee production operations to meet goals. Establish schedules, manage product lines based on business needs, and provide input on production flow.
• Cost Management: Identify potential manufacturing issues, manage operational budgets, and strive to improve financial performance.
• Equipment Maintenance: Administer equipment maintenance and repair. Maintain records and report recurring issues that might require equipment replacement.
• JJPS Adherence: Understand and follow Johnson & Johnson Production System (JJPS) principles and standards.
Qualifications:
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent university degree is required.
• Experience:
• Required: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience. Proficiency with SAP, MES, Office/Excel, and other computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: Supervisory experience, experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly medical device manufacturing. Experience in a CBA/Union environment. Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) monitoring and automation. Lean, Six Sigma, statistical, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Travel: May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
